In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that business, and "you" means the person placing the order.

    2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to every order placed through epiaoliveoil.com. By completing checkout you accept them, so please read them before you order. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on this page at the moment you place your order.

They are written for consumers. If you order using a company name and indicate that you are buying for a business, we treat you as a business buyer, and the rights reserved by law for consumers (including the right of withdrawal in section 9) do not apply to your order.

    3. The products

We sell extra virgin olive oil from a single grove above Petalidi in Messinia, Greece, hand-picked Koroneiki, cold-pressed the same day below 27°C, with acidity independently lab-verified under 0.8%. It is offered in a 1 litre bottle and a 5 litre tin.

Olive oil is an agricultural product. Colour, aroma and intensity vary between harvests and settle over time in the bottle, and a light sediment or a cloudy look in cold conditions is natural and clears at room temperature. None of this is a defect. Product photographs and tasting notes on the site describe the product in general and are not a guarantee of an exact colour or flavour.

    4. Where we deliver

We deliver to the Czech Republic and Romania, and only to those countries. We cannot accept an order with a delivery address anywhere else. If one reaches us, we will cancel it and refund you in full.

    5. Prices and currency

All prices shown on the site are final prices. We do not charge VAT, and no VAT will be added at checkout.

Amounts in Romanian leu and Czech koruna are shown for convenience only. Your payment is taken for the total shown on the final checkout step, and that total is the one that binds us both.

We recalculate every order total on our own systems before charging you, using our current prices, the shipping rate for your destination and any discount you applied. If a price on the site was obviously wrong and we have not yet dispatched your order, we may cancel the order and refund you rather than supply at the wrong price. We will tell you by email if that happens.

    6. Placing an order and when the contract starts

Adding items to your basket and paying is an offer to buy. The contract between us begins when we send you an order confirmation by email. If you do not receive one, contact us before assuming your order was placed.

We may decline an order. The usual reasons are that an item is out of stock, the delivery address is outside the countries in section 4, the address or contact details are incomplete, payment was not authorised, the quantity is not consistent with household use, or we have reason to suspect fraud.

    7. Payment

You can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard and Maestro). Card payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Your full card details are entered on Stripe's hosted form and are never received or stored by us.

Cash on delivery is available for deliveries to the Czech Republic and Romania, for an additional fee that depends on the carrier and is shown in your order summary before you confirm. With cash on delivery you pay the courier on handover, and the parcel is only released against payment.

    8. Shipping and delivery

We ship with Balíkovna in the Czech Republic and FAN Courier in Romania. The shipping cost depends on the destination, the weight of the parcel and the carrier you select, and it is always shown before you pay. Shipping is free on orders above €60.

We dispatch from our fulfilment partner's warehouse. The delivery estimate shown for your chosen carrier at checkout is the carrier's own estimate and not a guaranteed date. Once a parcel is handed to the carrier, the carrier's tracking is the most accurate source on where it is.

Responsibility for the goods passes to you when you, or someone you nominated to receive the parcel, takes possession of it. Please check the parcel on handover. Section 10 explains what to do if it arrives damaged.

    9. Cancelling your order and returns

As a consumer you have 14 days from delivery to withdraw from your purchase without giving a reason, on unopened bottles. The full procedure, the deadlines that follow, who pays return postage, and how refunds are handled are set out on our Returns & Refunds page, which forms part of these terms. Because this is a food product, opened bottles cannot be returned on the withdrawal right.

    10. Defects, best before date and storage

We are responsible for defects the goods have when they reach you. For a food product, that responsibility runs until the best before date printed on the packaging rather than for a fixed number of years, and it does not cover deterioration caused by storage after delivery.

Olive oil keeps best sealed, upright, away from light and heat, at normal room temperature or cooler. Once opened, use it within a few months and keep the cap closed, because air and light are what turn it stale.

If your order arrives damaged, leaking, incomplete or not what you ordered, email office@epiaoliveoil.com with your order number, a description and photographs of the packaging and the product. We will replace the goods or refund you, and you will not pay the cost of putting it right.

    11. Complaints and out of court dispute resolution

Please write to us first, because most problems are quickest to fix directly. We aim to answer complaints within 30 days.

If we cannot reach an agreement, you have the right to take the dispute to an out of court dispute resolution body. Because we are established in the Czech Republic, the competent body is:

The procedure is free of charge for consumers, and using it does not take away your right to go to court instead.

If you are shopping from another country and want advice in your own language, the European Consumer Centres Network helps consumers with cross-border purchases inside the EU. You can find your national centre through the European Commission at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu. The EU online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 and no longer accepts complaints, so any link you may still see to it elsewhere is out of date.

    12. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for loss caused by using the product in a way it is not meant to be used.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for defective products under product liability rules, and for your statutory rights as a consumer. Where you buy as a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or loss of opportunity.

    13. Your personal data

What we collect when you order, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have over it are described in our Privacy Policy. We share your delivery details with the carrier and our fulfilment partner because we cannot deliver your order otherwise.

    14. The content on this site

The EPIA name and logo, the photography, the product descriptions and the design of this site belong to us or are used with permission. You are welcome to share links to our pages. Please ask before reproducing our text or images commercially or republishing them as your own.

    15. Things outside our control

If our performance is delayed or prevented by something outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, a carrier strike, a failed harvest or a general network outage, we will contact you as soon as we can with a revised timescale. If the delay is substantial, you may cancel the affected order and we will refund anything you have paid for goods not delivered.

    16. Which law applies

These terms and any contract under them are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, and the Czech courts have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in another country we deliver to, this does not deprive you of the protection of the consumer protection rules of your own country that cannot be set aside by agreement, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.

    17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the law changes or when we add a payment or delivery option. Changes take effect when they are published here and apply to orders placed afterwards. We will not apply a change retroactively to an order we have already confirmed.

    18. Contact

For anything to do with an order, these terms or a complaint, email office@epiaoliveoil.com or call +420 723 823 869. Quoting your order number gets you a faster answer.
